Golfbaan: UNA Poggio Dei Medici

UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf Club, with its eighteen-hole, par 73, 6,468-metre championship fairway, designed according to USGA standards by architect Alvise Rossi Fioravanti and Florentine professional golfer Baldovino Dassù, is one of the most prestigious courses in Italy.
On the course, the Tuscan stile hotel UNA Poggio dei Medici offers restaurant, swimming pool, fitness room, wellness area, and rooms with direct access to the golf course.

Upon opening in 1992, Poggio dei Medici was acknowledged as the “Best New Golf Course” and since then has constantly figured among the best courses in Italy in the Il Mondo del Golf ratings. Recently it was selected as the “Best Golf Club” on the “Condè Nast Traveller” hot list, outplaying courses like the K Club in Ireland and Greenbrier in the United States.

The whole course, nestled in the green Mugello valley, protected by the Apennine mountains, offers a pleasant climate and stupendous views. With its 5 different starting tees for each hole, the course is suited to players of all levels and has hosted international golf competitions: 5 Italian Women’s Opens (1999,2000,2001,2002,2003); 1 Alps Tour Open (2007); 3 European Challenge Tour Opens (2010, 2011 and 2013).

Thanks to the events organised here, our golf course is attracting increasing interest and favour among the players taking part in club tournaments, eager to get to grips with a course which has seen a great many professionals and champions from all over Europe play here during the Opens. Without doubt, our facilities and course can be considered a lodestar for Italian golf.

The strategic geographical location means it is easy to reach from all over Italy, and the presence of the hotel with wellness centre and swimming pool directly on site completes the facilities and also makes it popular among non-players.
