Golfbaan: Lugo

Located seven kilometres from the city of Lugo, the course offers broad fairways running between age-old oaks and natural lakes. Its wonderful landscape and comfortable installations mean you can play golf in a relaxed, harmonious atmosphere.

The Sociedad Club de Golf Lugo, SA, founded in June 1992 as a joint stock company, had its starting point in the initiative of a group of fans who set out to provide a golf course to our city - the first of the province - in which to practice this sport.

Seven kilometers from the center of the city, it is located in a sheltered spot, in the valley of the Dorna and Villamoure rivers, with large centenary oaks and sheltered by important forest stands of native trees that make up its surroundings and enhance its beauty.

Among the projects submitted for its execution, the design of the Asturian D. José Manuel Canfrán was approved, of a nine-hole and par 72 course, whose development took place between 1994 and 1992.

With a smooth layout without large elevations or slopes, which make the route comfortable, it is a medium difficulty field, perfectly integrated into the landscape.

The facilities are completed with the Club House, equipped with a terrace and with good views of the field, with the practice court or a four-hole training pitch & putt.

The course was approved by the Spanish Golf Federation in December 1997 and its course was inaugurated in May 1998.

In 1999, the Lugo Golf Club was recognized by the Xeral Secretariat for Sport of the Xunta de Galicia as the best Galician golf club of the year.

As of the year 2000 a collaboration agreement is signed with the Galician Golf Federation under which the company gives entry to the figure of the subscriber, with the right to play similar to that of the members.
